Who I Am, And Why I Started North Coast Ride
Why I started this
After 30 years of riding the East Coast, I realized most guides don’t dive into the local heartbeat of a ride. They hit the same popular stops, skip the logistics, and leave out the quiet places you remember. I wanted something better for Northern Michigan—routes that feel like a friend showing you around.
What makes these guides different
Local first. Real stops I actually visit on my trips. Not just Tourist spots.
Ride-ready. Clear legs, realistic times, fuel notes, road quirks, seasonal tips.
PDF + GPX. Print it for your tank bag, or just tap the file into your GPS app.
Relaxed pace. Fewer highways, more winding two-lanes with the best views.
Beginner to seasoned. Fun, technical enough to be engaging, never punishing.
My promise
No fluff, no tourist traps. Just honest routes with the details that matter so you can spend more time riding and less time planning.
About me
I live in Northern Michigan and ride my 2019 Honda Shadow Phantom. My happy places are the Tunnel of Trees at sunrise, a quiet break on the Sturgeon Bay dunes, and a quick hop on the Ironton Ferry. If you see me out there, say hi.
